Design & Construction
Under the overarching principle of continuous project management, simultaneous engineering commences at the beginning of the construction phase and is maintained up to the point of completion. Solutions in the various areas are discussed and examined together with the customer. The employment of electronic tools minimizes the developement period. We use the following CAD Systems: CATIA, UNIGRAPHICS and ICEM-SURF.
Continuous analysis of the condition of the installation is important to maintain an efficient application of the process orientated construction.
The Design / Construction areas are concerned with two focal points:
a) Vehicle Construction and b) Plant Construction.
Through teamwork in the calculation and experiment departments, a concept for the construction of the vehicle is first developed, leading to the first prototype phase. The prototype is targeted on series construction, is constructed similarly, and will be tested in simulation and experiment. The measured values lead to further development and further prototypes, which will be improved to the optimum (= series capability). The interior coverings, body shell parts, installation, integration and testing of airbags, seats, kneebars (knee airbags) and cockpit development, as well as the overall vehicle construction (excluding chassis and actuation components) are of particular consideration.
In the construction plant, test sites (component test standings) will be constructed. The guidelines for these will be defined by legal requirements and by the house-own test engineers. A concept is followed up by a workshop drawing, and the pre location completion is then followed by the installation of the plant at the customer´s location. Training, service and maintenance are included in the service package.
